Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce that I have begun to prepare for the reopening of my Acupuncture office. While regulations continue to develop in New York City, I am planning for a start-date of June 15th and have started to schedule appointments.

As of now, NYC is requiring that all patients obtain a referral from an MD for acupuncture. This applies to everyone- even those of you who do not have acupuncture coverage on their insurance plan. Please take time now to obtain the referral and email it to me before your appointment.

Please read below on the new safety measures I am implementing, as well as requirements for entering the office. Tele-Medicine will remain an option for those who cannot or do no want to come to the office. Instructions for Tele-Medicine appointments can be found here. Stay tuned for more information and emerging research on how Herbal medicine has been successfully treating symptoms of Covid-19, and please be in touch with any questions or concerns you have regarding treatment and visiting the office.

In Health & Peace,

Miriam

Guidelines for Coming Into The Office:

  • As of now, you do require a referral from an MD to come in.Take your temperature the night before your appointment and email me your reading. Your temperature will be taken again upon entering the office. You cannot be treated in the office if temperature reads above 100.4 degrees.
  • If you are exhibiting any signs of Respiratory infection (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breathe, loss of smell/taste, fatigue, body aches) please do not come into the office. I will work with you via Tele-Medicine and ship herbs to your home or arrange for curb-side pick-up. I will also refer you to your biomedical care provider.
  • You must bring your own mask and wear it the entire time that you are in the office.
  • You will be asked to wash your hands with soap/water or Hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the office.
  • Any person accompanying you to the office will not be permitted to enter the office.
  • Check-out time will be minimized and conducted in the same room you were treated.
  • Please bring your own pen/paper to write with, and also your own water bottle, as the water dispenser will not be used at this time.
  • When your treatment is over, you will be asked to leave the office as soon as is possible to allow time for efficient cleaning and sanitizing. No person is permitted in the Waiting room.

New Safety Measures For Infection Control:

  • Only 2 patients will be permitted in the office at the same time.
  • No person is permitted to sit in the Waiting room.
  • The office fortunately has multiple treatment rooms on opposite ends of the office, and I will utilize 1 room on each end per patient.
  • Windows will remain open for ventilation.
  • Most office and decorative items will be stored away to allow for more efficient cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Each treatment room, and the bathroom, will be cleaned before and after each visit. This includes treatment tables, chairs, counters, doorknobs, light-switches, and windows.
  • I will be wearing a mask the entire time for every patient visit, and physical interaction will be minimized. I may wear gloves for certain cases.
  • Disinfection guidelines and checklists will be posted in each treatment room and entryway.
  • Cloth sheets and towels will not be used- only disposable paper will be used.

Please be in touch with me if you have any questions or concerns regarding these new guidelines.
I look forward to being of service to you,
Miriam
